Starting my natural hair journey

So I am beginning a natural hair journey. I plan to avoid heat straightening my hair, try more natural styles, and allot more conditioning in an effort to encourage hair growth. I think the hardest part will be reducing how much I dye my hair. My roots are so grown out already, its killing me! But I have to try.  I have been reading web sites and watching videos on you tube so you can expect to see my hair like this allot more.

For this look I used a green eye shadow for the inner lid and a blue on the outer lid then I blended brown and black through the crease I paired the colors with a nude lip and soft peach blush.

Let me know if you would like to hear more about my hair journey.

Two looks

So I lost my camera, not really I cleaned it away too well. But this morning I found it and realised there are pictures on it of looks I haven't posted yet.
This first picture is from an event I attended and this is the only picture I have of it.
It was just a white, grey and black ombre smokey eye, with a red lip.

I have been very interested in vintage hair lately so after watching a few videos of victory rolls on you tube I attempted this. I like how it came out for my first attempt.

The eyeshadow I used in this look is wet n wilds 8 color comfort zone palette, the definer color on the bottom right was my lid color. I have had this palette for quite some time and just tried it and loved it. I really like my wet n wild palettes but I tend to neglect them sometimes. Finding this color (cause it was lost) has won me back over.

I paired that shadow with a bright purple eyeliner, a little black to define the crease, and a nude lip

So i've been hauling

So as I mentioned before I have been shopping like crazy (mostly makeup) and felt like it was time for a break. Mostly I study things I want to buy watch videos, look at swatches, and make decisions. But lately I felt myself compelled to buy limited edition products quickly before they were sold out. Not really thinking my purchases through, or consulting my collection, I kept ending up with products I did not really want or need.
So I decided to start the new year off fresh. Three month freeze on all makeup purchases. There were things I ordered on black Friday that have been trickling in all of December, and that has helped but overall it has not been very hard to resist. I am seeing the bottom of a few things in my collection and I have not been to Walgreen's, or rite aid in fear of seeing something I just had to have.

In the mean time here are some things I did purchase before considering I needed a break. These pictures are a few months old but I like to try products at least once or twice before I tell about them.

The Haul

This was a 500 point gift from sephora

This was a sample pack at sephora for the holidays
$19.
This was part of the mac 2012 holiday collection

OCC Lip Tar

Occ lip tar in hoochie, and black Dahlia sorry some how the swatches for this got erased if your interested in seeing them let me know an I'll include them in the next post

MAC Marylin Monroe collection

Lipglass
I totally got this one for the packaging

Eyeshadow
This is the swatch for showgirl, a silver, with a blue tint, it looks nice and would be better with a primer

Silver screen did not show up very well it was very frosty, and I would need primer, and allot of building. I did not swatch this one because I could not get a good picture of it.

Glamour Daze

Mac white paint stick and two glamour daze extra dimension eyeshadow

These were my biggest regrets from my haul. I thought the colors were more of a copper and black when I ordered them when I got them the just looked bland. Maybe I could build them with primer. But these were not the shadows I wanted to order.

Hello kitty eyeliner
$29.

MAC Divine Desire / Paramour Pink

This palette was $70. I really like the colors in this palette they showed up really well. The first one is a blush, the second one is a lip gloss with a pretty color. The third one one was the lipstick. The last one was the eyeliner.

There was really nothing to swatch in this palette the lip primer was the real reason I bought this set and it alone was worth it. These "sample" sets are great ways to try new products without committing to a full sized product that you are not totally sure about. I also really liked the lip gloss. I'm already a fan of the shadow insurance, and this mini one is great for travel. Basically for $19. this set is a steal.

Free 500 point gift from sephora

Eyeliner and shadow swatches w/o primer. They both have very nice color and are soft.

This is just the first half of my haul. I may post pictures of mire products later.
