IMATS Day 1

IMATS LA 2012

 We were so excited to get here the line was around the corner and very disheartening, but it moved quickly. It seemed to go much faster than it did last year.
FYI, this is your last chance to turn away there are is alot in this post. I took pictures of everything it was so much fun.

Look at all the pretty palettes

I loved this Dinair lady's hair. She looks like a Dr. Suess Who.

This takes the phrase "Peacock Eye" to a new level it was so awesome.

This guy was being airbrushed and hand painted it was so fun watching the professionals make there models over. Seeing how they start and going back later to see what they created. Although I may never actually use these techniques they were fun to watch through the day.







This lady was so creepy looking  I knew she was not a monster but when she started walking towards me I just wanted to freak out. One thing I really appreciated was when you see these creatures on TV, or movies you think they look realstic due to lighting or special effects. But when you see these creatures in person you see the makeup is flawless and the look real right in front of you.

This was the last person I saw before I left the first day.

 HAUL Day 1

Please dont get me wrong although I enjoyed the artistry and show of it all, I did my full share of shopping. This is all of my purchases for the first day. Except the things in the top right corner, they are my friends. The first place I went to was the makeup forever booth I beat the crowd, I want to say we were thru the line in 15 minutes. The only booth I did not make it to that I wanted to was MAC. When I got there the line did not seem worth the products, only one product I wanted was a PRO only product so I decided not to stand in that line.

Day before imats

I am currently in LA sorry I haven't posted the updates I hoped to but we have been really busy Shopping and getting in late so maybe  I can distract you with some pictures from the engagement party I did makeup for. Also I'll throw in a few from the trip so far. There haven't been too many pictures so far since there was a day full of driving, and the fashion district while fun is not very photogenic. But here it is:

Picnic lotd

I wore this super simple look to my nieces graduation picnic. It was simply a matte green on the lid and brown in the crease to blend it out so the color did not just drop off.

The rest of this post I am going to talk about the booths I plan to visit at the imats this weekend.
in order that I am going to go to them:

 Makeup forever
I want to try there foundation and purchase some of there eye shadows, I'll be heading to there booth first since I hear there line can be 2 hours long during the day

MAC pro
I want to try some of there pro products like airbrush foundation and mixing medium

Inglot
I wanted to try there foundation and possibly pick up some more eye shadows to fill my 40 palette

Obsessive compulsive cosmetics
I wanted to buy some of there new lip tar colors and check out there airbrush foundation as well

Dinair airbrush makeup
I bought there airbrush system last year, too bad I purchased the wrong shade foundation. I plan to fix that this year, and get an eyeliner stencils, and airbrush eyeliner

Parian Spirit
I bought there brush cleaner last year and am almost out, need I say any more.

A's game makeup, and an apology

So I did my makeup for the A's game I did not have any green or gold shirts but I have makeup in just about every color. So I did this look

So sorry I have not been posting regularly, my camera has been on the fritz, so I am expecting a new one to be delivered today. I have been preoccupied with a friend who is getting married, working on her makeup. She said I could post her pictures on here so you will  see my Handy work eventually. Also I will be attending the imats next week so I am distracted by that as well. for any of you that don't know the LA area there is an area there called the fashion district. You can find lots of clothes and things very well priced so I am looking fwd to going there as well. I will be posting some pictures every evening of my days.

Flower cut crease

Sorry I have been so lazy about posting I have been finalizing my plans for my trip to the LA IMATS, I intend to be posting the weekend I am there updating you on what I buy and see. Anyway I did this look with inglot shadows, it was really bright. During the week I tend to wear a lot of neutrals to work so on the weekends I like to go really bright.

Shimmery purple

I did this look recently gold foiled pigment on the lid and purple in the crease, I liked this look

and I am starting to enjoy my pigments a lot more since I started foiling them.

Last haul... For now, cherry culture

These are some things I ordered from cherry culture, I have never ordered from them before but I was pleased everything came very quickly and it was all packaged well so that nothing would break in transit. So these are the things I got, also this will be my last haul post until the imats.

They have very good color and are very reasonably priced. I'm only swatching the blue palette but the other pictures did not turn out well but believe me they have good color and are build able.

The nail polish I ordered from them were very sheer glitter top coats I would not recommend them or order them again.
I will be posting my shopping list for the imats soon, I am also going to be trying not to buy any makeup until the imats. It is only three more weeks. I can do this. I am strong, I am invincible, I'm going to see how this goes...
